After reading The Whitaker Negroes a second time I've become interested in the truth behind the story and wonder if someone can give me further info. In particular I'm interested in Will Price's contribution to the story. Does anyone know if Price really told the tale as it appears in the story or did Graves spice it up? Price gives a fairly dramatic telling of the Whitaker history and I question if the dramatic touches were actually his or if Graves worked them into the tale himself. IMHP, the Price story certainly doesn't sound like Graves's typical style.

Additionally, does anyone know if Will Price was related in any way to E. H. Price, the minor horror author who contributed to America pulp magazines in the 1930's. Will Price mentions his family in New Orleans and E. H. Price lived there.

Thanks,
Mark
