Oxford University Press

regrets the distress caused to Mrs Laura (Riding) Jackson by the introduction to their edition of Seven Days in New Crete by Robert Graves. In his introduction, Martin Seymour-Smith expresses certain views of people and events, which may be read as statements of fact. Mrs Laura (Riding) Jackson completely repudiates these views and regards them as malicious. Mr Seymour-Smith has agreed, in the light of these objections, to revise his introduction for any future impression.
