Notes: Most copies have a silver label reading $195 stuck at upper right front corner of cover. The same book was issued in England on 2 October 1963 with an English price label (15s).

There are two variant bindings. One, reported by Mason/1978, is identical the binding described above except that the spine is printed in black, running down: THE BIG GREEN BOOK Robert Graves THE CROWELL-COLLIER PRESS

There is also a reinforced library binding reported by Hanrahan (A50). It is bound in green lacquer-finished cloth printed in black, white and chartreuse. The first and last signatures have been strengthened with open joint muslin reinforcing. The front is as above. The text on the back is identical the bindings above except five lines of text which describe the binding have been added at the bottom under the words “LIBRARY EDITION”. Reissued by Vintage, an imprint of Penguin Random House, on 26 April 2017 in hardcover without dust-jacket at £12.99.
