21.4 × 13.5 cm. Bulk: 0.4/0.7 cm. White wove paper watermarked: Utopian; all edges trimmed. Endsheets pasted to white paper cover which is tipped to grey unprinted boards, which are covered in maroon wrappers; spine and back blank, front printed in silver: SWINBURNIAN | COINCIDENCES.

Notes: Graves’s contributions are: Foreword to John Mayfield’s publication of Swinburne’s An Old Saying (pp.17–18); a letter to his daughter Jenny Nicholson Clifford dated from Deyá, June 12, 1947 (p.27); and a letter to Hertzog dated from Deyá, June l2, 1947 (p.28).

Also seen is a copy marked ‘X’and signed by Hertzog. The book is furnished in maroon wrappers, without boards. It is marked incomplete copy in Hertzog’s hand on the front of the Christmas card, lacking the Thomas Berwick wood engraving. On the verso Hertzog writes ‘Sorry – this is the last one and I ran out of birds. c.h.’ Laid in is a 6-pp. pamphlet, "An Aftermath of Swinburnian Coincidences. John S. Mayfield's Debt to Robert Graves. Episode Six."
